Weclome to the Mac world. Frozen hard drives, fried logic boards and "geniuses". Sorry brutha. My advice to you is to use an external HD for everything and keep a folder with all of the software installers you'll need and all of your fonts. That way, when this happens again in 3 months, it'll be a lot easier to get back up and running.
- 7 macs and I've never had a single issue, sounds like user error to mestupidresponse
