I've chosen 3 of my favourite responses from a previous thread about banning smoking in the UK:

There is a lot more that goes on when they ban smoking in bars besides your precious clothes not smelling like cigs.Blue collar and factory bars shut down because their clientele isn't about to go outside to smoke, they will just stay home where they can do what they like, revenue to the bar drops off and business' that have been in operation for 30 years shutdown.
This happens in every city that implements these bans.
All so you can go home and not wash your queer diesel jeans 2 days in a row, you selfish fucks.

Why couldn't we ban non-smokers? Pubs are for smoking and drinking, and if you dont like that, dont fucking go in one. I dont like cars, other peoples children, angry mobs... I can avoid all of them if I please. I dont stand in the middle of the fucking road dodging cars whining about the fact I might die if I get hit - I dont stand in the middle of the fucking road! The upper-middle classes running this government dont have a clue about the simple pleasures in life because they've got fucking fast cars, bubbly, fad diets, and all manner luxury to distract them from them hellish reality of existence. Ban these assholes from their own stupidity, and ban them from our god-damn pubs. Wankers.
