I've had that same problem. It's a font you have to turn off. I can't remember the name of it, but after a week of dealing with that crap, I finally had the bright idea to copy that fucked up text and paste into TextEdit, then highlighted the text there and got the name of the font, then turned it off. Haven't had any problems since. Still don't know why that crap suddenly happened though.
