Interesting to know, sikma, thanks. Was playing around with some footage, mimicking the PS tutorial flashbender posted, only in After Effects. Just winds up looking like a heavily saturated "faux film" effect. Oh well. Maybe with some more time and effort, I can find something.
My guess is that working in Shake, or even in a Flame or Inferno rig, you can come closer.
