im pretty sure its impossible to tell if people abusing source code outweighs people that have actually advanced open source code.
i mean, so what if some shmuck makes a crappy geocities page using open source code and calls it his own. frauds are obvious and don't get any respect as is. is that to say that open source should be done away with? i use ultrashock and flash kit all the time. now i dont post up on my websites that I LEARNED THIS NIFTY TRICK FROM ERIC NATZKE. but i also don't say, I CREATED THIS ACTIONSCRIPT BY MYSELF. if someone wanted to know where i got the code from, id be more than willing to point the person in the right direction and give credit where credit is due.
i've got a question...if i do a find and replace in dreamweaver and take out the 'MM_' in dreamweaver scripts and replace it with nothing...is that the same as "butchering and raping" an open source code?
