Just watched the fight. What a horrible referee job that was. It was almost like Cortez wanted to be part of the fight.
That said, Mayweather utterly destroyed Hatton. Also of note is that Hatton's corner threw in the towel. That's pretty messed up. It didn't seem like they knew Cortez stopped it when Hatton was tumbling down the second time and just tossed it in. Joe Frazier never talked to his cornerman again when he tossed it in during Ali-Frazier III.
But, AndyRoss, don't confuse aggressiveness with any kind of skill. It was Hatton's aggressiveness that got him knocked out. The guy was leading with his head the entire fight. Mayweather wised up and just started jabbing him into submission.
Good fight, but expected outcome.
