NHL may skip Olympics after 2010:
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/…Not sure what my thoughts are on this... It does mess with the season, but I usually cancel all television watching to focus solely on the Olympics. Also, I do like the fact more college players get to play on the US Team if no NHL Players are being utilized (and getting hurt... this happens a lot in Football when a player plays for example let's say Arsenal, and then plays for his national team ... let's say Holland ... and gets hurt).
