- figure out what you can afford, then bump up the specs to what you can absolutely afford, then buy that one
- check ebay for a broadcast monitor
- Get yourself a firewire deck as well, this will improve your camera life. Get one that does HD and SD so you have room to grow into new formats. Sony makes a decent one.
