I don't mind that... that's what happened when you'd hit refresh... makes sense to have it automatically...
... now... when I'm in a thread and someone posts... I wouldn't mind a message or even an auto-update that the thread has a new post or a new note...
... cuz you can't see new notes until you physically go back in thread and check for it...
Anyway... these are all things that we just need to get used to... it's all rather intuitive in my opinion... you just gotta 'read' and click. :)
