sorry to pee in your noodles, dibec, but sash and diggers just aren't the pioneers I think you seem to think they are.
To cast your mind back, there was a time in 92 when a mix tape called 'the sasha tape' made its way around the underground, it had on the other side of it the set by one Laurent Garnier, who was the bigger name and who actually played the better set. Sasha mixed Whitney Houston over the top of another record and was suddenly the blue-eyed boy at the right time in the right place, but was by no means a pioneer of that sound. John Digweed was similarly made famous by his selection by Sasha, and whilst both are competent and talented DJs, the rest of the dance music world really doesnt owe their existence to either of them.
May, Saunderson, Atkins and also Nitzer Ebb, Larry Heard and numerous numerous others from many previosly seperate 'genres' of music back in the day are really the fathers of modern techno.
And I use the term techno, as it's all techno. House is techno, drum and bass, jump step up -whatever the fuck they're calling it now, all follow rules created by techno artists 10, 20, years ago. Must mention Andrew Weatherall in passing.
If you want to know where dance music is, and where it's going, watch this man he's always on the money..
