  I saw him speak at my college. He was about 5' tall and carried an ornate cane with a silver eagle's head as its handle.

  funny you mention it. I've always wondered why the US adopted the Roman Polity and neo-classical symbolism. Is there a founding text or available reference for this? It's a very interesting subject.
