    Dear McEnroe...
    SORRY 'BOUT THE LINGO.

    Now then...
No one who as ever used a PC will move to a new Windows OS without a bit of trepidation.

Especially when your current OS runs like butter.

    Remember Windows Millennium?

And given the PLETHORA of software makers crafting products for PCs, driver compatibility is a constant concern.

But, I have maxed out my trusty Toshiba - I need more power and efficiency.

Aside from the design stuff, I am a musician. I occasionally mix smaller projects on my Note, uh... Laptop.

I run Sonar 6 producer (upgrading to 7 momentarily), Sound Forge, a bunch of VSTs and process it all through M Audio hardware.

    So, I'm a bit concerned.

Finally, as evidenced by the title of this thread, I am aware you must "wipe Vista" reinstall SATA drivers and so on if you wanna' go back to XP.

Nonetheless, I'm doing all the good stuff by organizing all of my hardware and driver info so I'll be ready for whatever happens when the new baby arrives.
