I was trying the make the point that it feels as if people in NY at all levels of society are more well traveled and more cultured.

go to SF. try it, see for yourself. if you are on a 3 -month move track anyway, what's the harm?
I like SF, I like NYC. lived in one, been to other countless times. neither are for me any longer, but both have their strengths. but i am always amazed to hear NYers describe NYC as anything less than Utopia. it cracks me up.
