Though tact is missing...izaway has a point. Rather than make judgments though, it goes back to totally different vibes. In my experience people tend to be either an East Coast or West personality. Being in SF, though beautiful, drove me crazy. I'm too Type A and I love the frenetic energy of NYC.
One of my favorite things about NYC is that people can be very abrupt, quick to chew your ass but they might be the same people you'd have a drink with five minutes later...or get directions from.
