hey... v6... relax... jeepers!!
i use illy only because i primarily build flash these days...
... FOR YEARS... I used corel 9's font manager which is AMAZING I agree... switches fonts on and off w/out an issue... manages them and gives great previews etc... no arguing there...
... there's just a load of stuff that Adobe has jammed together these days that work wonderfully together.
I also use after effects alongside of photoshop when building complicated animation/fx for Flash...
... Corel attempted to build an .swf authoring tool a number of years back... it just didn't catch.
The simplicity of the Adobe suite is the standard, whether you like it or not, man...
... you have valid points about Corel... but it'll take a miracle to a catch on as they didn't keep up w/Adobe...
... now there just isn't a following outside of Mom & Pop sign shops / small prints shops / clip art houses / silkscreen joints...
... you will not find it being used in the majority of high-end studios nearly as much as Adobe...
