  I have had
  1 mac plus
  1 mac LC
  2 imacs
  1 emac
  1 powerbook G4
  1 mac mini
  2 ipods

  Never had a hardware failure on any of them in fact my 7 year old powerbook still rocks a long and the battery still gets a hour or so of life.

  Not saying they dont break but I have had a good run.

  Also have had about 3 dells and still have a dell core duo and none of these have had hardware failures but I only keep them for a year or so.
