    for the front page I don't think you can control that as the browser window is resizeable and controllable by the user. so it can be longer than it is wider or shorter than it is wider.

    too long = too much border
    too short = no border

    for the interior pages can you elaborate a lil more? as in percentage of what and what does it affect?
