I just got back. I was there for about two months.
Kolkata was the dirtiest place i have ever been.
Darjeehling was great...
Trekking in Sikkim was unbelieveable
Nepal is poorer than india
Varnasi should not be missed but expect a hassle.
Agra and the taj are worth more than a day.
Leh is the best place I have been.
delhi was exhausting
India can be overwhelming in the fact that the tour touts will be all over you. Expect it. Don't get mad. Just get away from the tourists....
I can't say that I enjoyed India. I was travelling alone and it was hard work getting from place to place and avoiding the hassles.
Thailand is the world's most hassle free destination but I think I learned more about myself in the 2 months that I spent in india as oppossed to the three years I spent in Bangkok.
have fun...and you will get sick like edd-e says.
