oh shit, i feel your pain. i have this chick in my office here. gives EVERYONE a nickname. if they've got a short name like mine, it becomes longer (mike = mikey). long names become shorter. NO ONE'S GIVEN NAME IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR HER. that bitch. examples:
toni = ton
darcy = darc
karen = "care bear" (seriously)
terrie = teretc. fuck off already!!!
in response to YOUR situation, however, i accidentally stumbled on to the perfect way to get people to leave you alone a few years ago. here is my tale:
we had just bought a new digital camera and were testing it out, one of the pics they took was of someone i happened to hate. i had someone e-mail me the pic and i printed up a bunch of full-size pages. i don't remember exactly what i was planning on doing to them, but it was funny...imagine something really cruel & mean.
anyway...my boss caught wind of it and told me to get rid of the pics. so...it's 10am, i'm still swaying i'm so hung over, standing in the copier room in front of the shredder with 80 proof breath...and the chick walks in and sees me with a stack of papers, each with a full-size pic of her face on it, running each one of them through the shredder.
do it. no more stupid nicknames, i guarantee.
