I think you're partly completely full of shit MrD. To say you've never listened or clicked on an mp3 anywhere?
You can also talk to the HUGE amount of artists I've discovered by "stealing" their music, then supporting them by buying their album and seeing them live - whom I would have never heard of before if it wasn't for sites like OiNK.
You're just regurgitating record company rhetoric, and you have no idea why. They're still posting record sales figures, as are movie companies btw.
Some people will have never bought an album even if they downloaded the music - it wouldn't have mattered. But there are people that are buying new albums from artists they would have never heard of if it wasn't for this so-called stealing. Record companies should be thanking us.
Also - it helps to filter out the absolute garbage over-marketed garbage these record companies try to churn-out from overproduced soulless "artists".
