i guess same applies for fonts, software etc. I'd be hard pressed to try and run a business with cracked software though but it doesn't stop me from downloading it and using it in general. There's always fair use and responsibility issues. Part of the ethic of these sites is to mention in the description that if you like it then buy it. Strikes me that if I was going to make money from it then I should aquire it properly. Same thing if I was running a radio station getting sponsors and ads and all I was doing was broadcasting mp3s i downloaded. there's always a line personally and professionally.
Trent Reznor just told the Chinese to download his album instead of buying it from bootleggers on the street, makes sense to me. Bootleggers arn't really 'stealing' the music but they are doing something illegal by repackaing and selling it for themselves.
