I got fired from waiting tables @ The Rainforest Cafe when I was in college. No joke. I had played "Robin Hood" by altering/adding tips on unsigned credit card slips that people left behind. Apparently somebody finally noticed and reported the discrepancy.
That was in my less scrupulous days. I suppose it's safe to say I deserved it (and I got off lightly considering all the money that I had pilfered over the course of several years waiting tables).
