The US is supporting Israel in the current capacity...that would be called reality, as in...it's really happening. The US is really supporting Israel...see how this statement is in fact reality?
Thinking that they should not support Israel because of your ideals is something that is not happening. But ideally you think it should be happening. This is called Idealism.

Look, I'm going to go ahead and get back to work. Us crazy redneck meathead realists understand that hard work and a sharp mind make you successful at what you do. Idealists sit on message boards complaining about how they've been wronged, what they would do different from successful people and who is to blame when things don't pan out for them.
