normally two weeks notice will suffice, but if you feel strongly about it give them 3 weeks notice and offer to help interview and find your replacement.
sometimes, when it comes down to it, you gotta do what you gotta do and you can't care so much about everyone else.
if there is anything i've learned in all my years working, you need them more than they need you, and they'll let you go on a friday afternoon at the drop of the hat not giving a rats ass about you or your financial situation.
sometimes you just can't care about who you might hurt when leaving said company. they're a company, they'll find someone to replace you soon enough.
