Well for that price range, you most likely won't be getting a 3CCD camera. It doesn't matter so much whether it's for web or broadcast (IMHO), but color and quality.
However, that said, Sony and Canon bith (I think) have consumer model HDV cameras at that range. A friend recent;y bought the Canon one, and gave good reviews. I've always been partial to the lens and picture quality of Canon over Sony. But you'll get good results with both at that price point.
