not strictly 90's but, when i went to music industry parties in london in the late 80's ( i was working in a uk PR for a band called 'and why not' and johnny diesel and the injectors). we used to go to these parties where you'd just walk into a room, chat to folks,have a dab, then some one would stick off the lights and then it was just a free for all, riding left right and centre, putting it in any hole available, gobs the lot. it was way back then. i was only 18 odd then aswell, daft eh? good job there wasn't moby's with night vision then. when some of the older blokes used to get rough on you, you just had to batter them in the dark and take off and that. daft.
