If you care about the longevity of your band, be careful.
I doubt you will be able to play half a song and walk away. You will probably have to sign a 3 record contract before you even know if you win, and if you walk off stage I'm sure you will be breaking a contract and get sued.
In one token, you will get incredible exposure, but you will probably be put in very trying situations with your good friends. That can get sticky.
Have a lawyer read contracts before you sign them, they are utterly confusing.
