I have the pan. lumix fz20...like the great zooom and flexability.
but having been a novice photographer for a about a year the Canon still amaze me. Although what i have isnt small and compact.....I'd go with a canon G.
that will be my next! for sure!
I would go canon G, if any there not super compact but pack a lot of Cam for the size! especially the G9 **panting
