Buying a TFT just because it saves more space is no excuse for a person whose job depends on having a good monitor. Buy a bigger table if you have desk space troubles.
CRT are better for colour. TFT are crispier. Your choice may depend on the kind of work you do or even the style of graphics you're working with.
