There's not really a way of knowing God's intention. The book of Job declares basically that it is none of our business. Sure, we could guess, but I wouldn't want to make such claims here without having something to back it up.

(Aug 28 07, 11:00)Of course they don't want it to be any of your business. they don't want you to question authority. so what people do is sit quietly and follow like mindless lemmings.
Just thinking out loud... there is no "master", and there is no use of "worshipping" something. to me, it's like loving a dictator. you don't need to call yourself feeble or a sinner either. there is no "sinning", it's just life, you can make bad things and good things happen. is this too simple for you? you can be good and live a good life and help others without religion, despite what your pastor says.
it was so refreshing to let go of "god", it made me realize how precious this life is, and in a way it makes you want to make the most of it in the here and now. i wish you could understand what it's like to be an atheist - truly. but i know you're thinking you wish i knew what it was like to be a christian. anyway, just blabbing.
