networking is #1.
all my jobs have been from peers and colleages, most people get jobs from referrals and such, not cold calls and job postings..
if you have a solid network of people who know your work, ethic and personality, they'll most likely be able to get you gigs, keeping good relationships with previous employers and contacts is key.
