Seinfeld is funny, no doubt, but it really is in it's own sub-genre. To argue against it would be like trying to argue South Park vs. the Simpsons in a room of 50 people.
Regardless, there were/are so many great sitcoms:

Married With Children
Diff'rent Strokes
What's Happening
Good Times
Martin (yes, I mentioned it again)

Bosom Buddies
