It's harder to get a job outside cities - I say do not miss the chance of working in NY if you have the chance but you should try to keep your local contacts in greece. Maybe freelance from the US for a bit and see if you can handle it both.
No need to make definitive "cuts". It's not like you're going to another planet full of crazy aliens (oh wait...)
