Well, first of all i am in NYC. Probably the hardest hit city. And as you know EVERYBODY in NYC wants to be a model or an actor, or Designer, so competition is fierce.
I'm not experienced enough for the 8 years of experience art director type jobs, and i am too good for the entry level gigs, so i'm basically stuck. Employers want the "perfect" fit, and in this shitty economy, they can be as picky as they want to be.
I get by on freelance gigs every other month, "surviving" is the key word.
