    I wouldn't call it "belittling our craft" (that sounds so fucking elitist), more like trying to pushing the boundaries of design by experimentation, themes, and creative code.

    In my view, if more designers like myself (and people here) got on the Personal Projects bandwagon then maybe not so much of design these days would be boring and shit and all the same.

    Personally, i give the middle finger to sites like www.no-spec.com.

    Lastly a quote form that site:

    "spec work devalues the potential of design and ultimately does a disservice to the client"

    Yeah, try telling that to other creative individuals such as unsigned bands who want to play a gig for free so that they can be better at the their next gig or the young creative who wants that dream job within their favourite design agency, etc.
