    whatever you do AFTER you have put your footage onto the timeline where you want it at TWO minutes, you then try to put stuff before it and it moves it?

    right, and even stuff like putting footage on the timeline (say at 1:20) and then just moving it to 1:30 makes that happen.
    or changing the speed of this clip will also affect where the following clips are.

    i just want whatever i put on the timeline to stay where it is no matter what else i'm doing!! arghghhhgh ;-)

    thanks ninjasavant btw for the basic reminders, i do all that, it just keeps affecting the whole timeline no matter what.
