There is something exhilarating about mosquito bites, especially if 20 of them got you. The uncomfortable prickling, the insane desire to scratch at it, the knowledge that if you do, you'll prolong it all for days, if not weeks, the unsightly welts...
It all makes you feel very alive, and the fact that you were picking tomatoes at night and now have a respectable pile of red gold on your kitchen table, well, that's just icing, innit.
