We have these 'special plates' in Ohio. The extra fee you pay for the plate is usually donated to the organization displayed on the plate.
The problem with this is, who tards who run Ohio select the organizations that can get a plate and a donation. So the only plates you can get are plates that say Choose Life, Future Farmers of America, BEEF (not kidding)...there is even an NRA plate. You'd think, to be fair, the state would have to allow you to select any organization you wish to support on your license plate... but of course Ohio is a state that put a gay marriage ban in it's constitution.
