    They did us for 7k earlier in the year. I went to lawyers about it and they said that we didn't have a leg to stand on.

    I spoke to the Getty legal department, and having images of work you have done which contains their images on your website or in your brochure is not allowed and they'll sue.

    The problem I had was over images purchased for a three month license. The image was in a clients company magazine, which was out for three months, but after that time they still had a couple of back issues on display in their reception. This was outside of the license we purchased. Their legal tema told me that even keeping a file copy was not allowed. Or if we did a poster with one of their images and the client wanted to keep a copy on their office wall, not allowed, we'd be fined.

    The result, we paid up, and we no longer use Getty Images. We spent probably £20k plus with them every year, now we commission photography.
