what neue says is very wise and essential, and something i learned to incorporate in my life as well. our work and crafts' significance is limited. hell, i could walk out the door and ask my neighbour and i am sure his level of giving a damn is lower than the level of land behind our dikes. so think again, other people's work may deserve your respect as well, and so does their opinion. A good craftsman deserves respect by a humble attitude, not by acting superfamous.
