I love istockphoto - use them a lot these days but they're owned by Getty as well. I feel Getty probably bought them just to destroy it someday. Think how much they must have been losing to istockphoto and other "reasonably" priced stock places. BTW www.pond5.com is the best for cheap stock video footage for all you motiongraphics wizards out there.
