In the letter there was no justification or explanation of why they charge that much.
Newsgroups in the UK (I'm US but not many postings in this country about it) say that they charge 4 times the value for penalty.
On the phone they just act like a collection agency and don't give any info. Just pay up or pay up with 20% discount right now. I tried to negotiate to no avail.
I did the crime and admitted the error - but the sentance is unjust and very bad business.
As designers aren't we always telling clients to build "trust relationships" with their customers and shit. Project the brand feeling that your not totally trying to screw your customers. Or at least kiss them after you fuck them!
