yikes 5timuli...that's uber creepy! a similar thing happened to me last year. mind you, i don't believe much in these things, but this weirded me out. i'd wake up in the middle of the night hearing a male person talking downstairs. distinctly. i couldn't make out exactly what he was saying and at first i thought the tv was left on. i'd open the bedroom door and take one step into the hallway and then silence.
this happened 4, maybe 5 times in a period of a few months and stopped. the sounds did NOT come from outside, definitely inside, and i was NOT asleep :|
