We will all be fucking skint—unless we branch out into other areas to make money i.e. property etc. Or take a chance on starting up on our own before we hit 30, maybe there’s a chance we could earn some sort of decent wage before our hands and wrists pack in for good. The only way to make money in this game is to either sell out and bend over for the big corporate clients (that’s if you can get your foot in the door in the first place), or be extremely lucky from the get go and have mates who all end up working high up in the marketing departments of cool companies which can pay good money AND give you good work.

Has anyone met a graphic designer who’s over 40, but doesn't work for themselves? The ones that work for themselves are either stressed to fuck, going through a nervous breakdown or are in one of the options I mentioned above—either sold out and talk solely in marketing jargon, or happen to know lots of ‘cool’ people willing to give them work.

They don’t tell you that at college now do they eh?

Get out while you still can—it soon becomes boring creating a work of art time and time again only at the last minute for the client to change their mind and amend it to death until it becomes a piece of glorified direct mail.

    It’s a joke.

    Fuck this.

    Fuck it all.
