on the real, a first date should involve you and her, talking, getting to know each other. Some sort of activity is good, but it shouldn't hinder the interaction between you and said hot date.
Personally, I don't do dinner, it might involve a small meal, but dinner no, drinks yes!
Go do some sort of unique place that serves something authentic. Go to a cuban place and get a mohito, Japanese/Saki, etc.
you want to be the fucus, not the entertainment/movie/whatever
