i have to disagree actually with the notion that this should be the greatest 'phone' for speaking and listening to conversations with. in all truth, this (along with a host of other models, flavors, brands on the market) is a mobile device with the phone being simply one of those. should it make phone calls? sure, absolutly. should apple be responcible for creating the worlds greatest (or whatever) phone call device? LOL riiiiiiiight....i also think "but its ability to function as a phone should exceed these extra features" is terribly short-sided and really not accurate here. sorry ottawa.
why should the phone func. be superior to all the other ones? i do not feel that the phone is the pillar by which all other functions should revolve around; technology has come to far for that. at one point it was a clear path, but in reality, users are 'using' there devices for more and more outside of any thought of making a phone call.
i know i do..... and i don't have a landline/telephone.
