Bussing has it's positive and negative effects. Yes, the bullshit steps off that bus, but so do eager learners who wouldn't have that educational opportunity within their own neighborhoods. It's a catch 22...
my high school had bangers that lived around the corner and bangers that lived 12 miles away; either way drama would have been there. We had a very diverse population too, so honestly, the bussing wouldn't have made much of a difference either way.
