Sad to see this thread!!??? What!!!?? Jesus, if this was the typical Mac vs. PC I might agree, but this is a legitimate issue and I thank birichino for bringing to light (although I'll no doubt see it everywhere now).
This is HUGE!! For those just messing with PS and doing web design, maybe it isn't an issue and you'll buy Apples no matter what they make, as long as it's pretty, but for some of us the performance is crucial.
I've got my 3 computers (a dual 2.2, single 2.4, and an older 933) now and am always looking to upgrade. I compare AMDs to Xeons, prices as they fluctuate, RAM prices, etc.With my field the fastest means much more time. It's important.
The fact that Apple claimed to be faster AND cheaper, could have opened a whole new door beyond their niche (and if they'd put in a decent graphics card), but if this story holds any validity, they've made themselves look worse than before the G5 was announced.
