A few years ago I was in line at a drugstore, and they called out "prescription for Firpo." This guy walked up and picked up the bag.
So I asked him if he was related to Firpo, the Wild Bull of the Pampas. He said yes, that was his grandfather. He thought it was amazing I knew anything about his gran.
Firpo knocked Dempsey out of the goddam ring one time, and nearly became champ. Famous painting of it.
Great name though. How can you forget "Wild Bull of the Pampas?" He was a big hero all over the Argentine.
