I always get Applecare, but inevitably the laptops succumb to other fates that arent covered... either they fall off the end of airport X-ray belt cos they didnt build a high enough ledge (doh!), or I drop coke on keyboard (doh!), or bag strap breaks, and laptop gets dented corner (d'doh!)
When that stuff isnt happening I have stuff that is covered under warranty, like spotty screen (replaced), screws falling out of the display casing (fixed), rubber feet falling off (they send a little bag of rubber feet), motherboards dying (replaced)...
